Jackson County PWSD #16 has started construction of a new 500,000 gallon elevated water storage tank that will eventually replace the existing 100,000 gallon storage tank located on Sunny Nook School Road. The District was able to secure funding for this project through the Missouri Department of Natural Resources State Revolving Fund Program. The District borrowed $750,000 for this project and received a matching $711,000 in grant funds.

This additional storage will allow the District to meet the required demands of the growth in the southern half of the District in the past 20 years as well as hopefully meeting those demands in the future.

The Tower was completed and placed in service October 25, 2016.

The Board of Directors of Jackson County PWSD #16 have authorized funds for the installation of a new radio read meter reading system. This new system will require new water meters to be installed on every customer in the District by District personnel. The District will begin this change out program as soon as the new Neptune meters are received. We hope that this upgrade will be completed by the end of next summer (2016). The District completed this transition in July of 2016.
